Much of Caoimhe Kilfeather’s work to date has been informed by ways in which human experience and memory are expressed through ritual and materiality. For her forthcoming exhibition at St. Carthage Hall – experiments in living – Kilfeather will make a new installation which continues this enquiry but is somewhat recontextualised, encompassing a broader, non-anthropocentric perspective. This perspective alludes to dwellings and tools made by animals; to natural materials, hewn and polished through geological time and to the many material processes of human production which have been refined over generations.
